D.A.V. is:
D.A.V. has released their first single following their highly successful album, War Zone. Retaining the same line-up that graced the album, D.A.V.'s new track, "The Divided" follows stylistically in War Zone's path, with an edgy, guitar-driven modern rocker with both metallic guitars and programmed elements. Also, once again, the clean vocals of band founder, Dave Hanson, are off-set by the harsh, deathy growls of Jacob Towns, but on this track we also have a children's choir adding some vocals, as well as some blackened screaming toward the end of the track. Talk about something for everyone, vocally...and yet it all fits together amazingly well! The twin guitars of Zack Gallipeau on leads and J.W. Reed on rhythms, are on full display here, offering a really full sound and some slick leads, with an excellent solo run from Zack leading into the last third of the track. Zack's brother, Jacob keeps everything on time with his solid drum work. I'm assuming the bass is programmed here, as there is no bass player credited and none appears in the video.
Lyrically, D.A.V. continues to challenge the listener and holds nothing back spiritually. Never one to shy away from tough topics, Hanson tackles the division that is not only ripping through the country, but also through the church, when he warns...
Turn and flee
The Hate...the Divided!"

Hanson has told me that a follow-up single will be released soon, although he is unsure of the status of a full album at this time.
If the project's track record holds, look for "The Divided" to charge up the ChristianRock.Net and TheBlast.FM charts soon! Be sure to request "The Divided" wherever you listen to great hard music!
